Psychiatric Services in Georgia
Evaluation, diagnosis and ongoing treatment. One practice doing one thing, with the time to do it properly.

One Course of Care, Not Separate Services
Evaluation and ongoing treatment are the same course of care, not separate services. The first appointment works toward a diagnosis, where one applies, and a starting plan. Everything after that is adjusting it.

Outpatient Mental Health Services, Narrowly Focused
A narrow practice is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation. We do one thing, which is why an appointment has room in it. See the conditions we treat and who we see.
How Care Is Delivered Here
Two appointment types, one choice about how you attend, and one option for people who already have a prescriber.
Your First Appointment
A full psychiatric evaluation: your history, what you are dealing with now, and what you want treatment to change. You leave with a diagnosis where one applies and a starting plan. When medication is appropriate, the clinician explains the options before anything is prescribed.
- Unhurried
- No referral needed unless your plan requires one
- In person or by telehealth
Ongoing Treatment
Medication management: prescribing, monitoring and adjusting as your response becomes clear. Most of the work happens here rather than at the first appointment.
- Shorter visits
- Your history in one chart
- Refills coordinated with follow-up care
A Second Opinion
A medication review for people already taking something: what you are on, why, and whether it still fits. You can take the opinion back to your own prescriber.
- One appointment
- Your regimen, examined
- No obligation to switch
Care by Video
Telepsychiatry across Georgia: the same evaluations and follow-ups by secure video. Coverage and cost depend on your insurance plan or the self-pay rate, and the self-pay rate is the same in person or by video.
- Statewide
- Phone or laptop
- Same self-pay rates
Appointments With Time for the Next Decision
An initial evaluation is scheduled with time for your whole history, not only the symptom that brought you in. A follow-up has time for what has changed since the last visit, not only whether a refill is due.
Your history, medication response and treatment decisions stay in one chart. A record of what you tried in March helps the team judge whether what is happening in July is the medication, the season or something else.
Care From Ridge Way’s Clinical Team
Ridge Way’s Georgia-licensed clinical team provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults, teens and children age six and older. Care is delivered with physician oversight and documented in a shared medical record.
What a Psychiatry Clinic Does
Treatment is a sequence rather than a single appointment. Knowing the shape of it before you book makes the first visit easier.
Evaluation
History, symptoms, what has been tried before, and what you want to be different now.
A Starting Plan
Recommendations for your goals, with any medication’s benefits and side effects explained.
Watching the Response
Follow-up visits track what is working, what is not, and what side effects have shown up.
Adjusting
The dose, medication or broader plan can change with your response and new information.
What We Treat, and What We Refer Out
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management, for adults, teenagers and children. Saying plainly what we do not offer saves you an appointment that was never going to help.
When therapy may strengthen the treatment plan, our medical team can explain why and provide referral options when available.

Common Questions
Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral unless your insurance plan requires one. We check that when we verify your benefits, before the first appointment.
Do you take my insurance?
Ridge Way participates with several insurance plans. See accepted insurance for the current list. We verify benefits before the first appointment, but verification is not a guarantee of payment or coverage. Self-pay rates are also available.
Do you offer therapy?
No, and we say so early because it saves an appointment. We provide evaluation and medication management only. Where therapy would strengthen the plan, we say so and our medical team can refer you. Our full scope of care.
How soon can I be seen?
We are accepting new patients. Availability moves week to week, so the booking page shows what is actually open rather than a promise made here.
Can everything be done online?
Psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits are available by secure video when telehealth is clinically appropriate. You must be physically in Georgia during the appointment. Insurance coverage and your cost depend on your plan; our self-pay rates are the same in person and by telehealth. How telehealth works.
What if I am having thoughts of harming myself?
Ridge Way is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health or suicide crisis, call or text 988, any time, or call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225. Crisis resources.

Evaluation, Ongoing Care or a Second Opinion
An evaluation, ongoing medication management, or a second opinion on a plan that is not working. In person in Sugar Hill or by video anywhere in Georgia. You do not need a referral unless your insurance plan requires one. Request an appointment and we will usually call you back within one business day.
