Psychiatric Care That Takes Insurance

We are in network with most major plans and check your benefits before your first visit, so you have an estimate of your expected cost before you are seen, not after.

Insurance We Are in Network With

Coverage is set per plan, not per company, so seeing your insurer here does not guarantee your particular policy is included. If your plan is not listed, here is what happens next.

We Check Your Coverage Before You Are Seen

You do not have to decode your own policy. Send a request or call with your card. We contact your plan, confirm your behavioral health benefits, and call you back with your copay and anything still owing on your deductible. Then you decide whether to book, with the number already known.

With insurance, your cost depends on your plan’s telehealth benefits, deductible, copay or coinsurance, which can differ from an in-person visit. We check them when we verify your benefits. The self-pay rate is the same either way. You do not need a referral unless your insurance plan requires one. A few HMO plans still require one for specialist care, and we will tell you if yours is one of them.

What Decides What You Pay

Your exact figures come from your plan, not from us, which is why we check rather than estimate. These are the three terms that matter.

Copay

A fixed amount per visit. You pay it at each appointment and your plan covers the rest.

Deductible

What you pay yourself before coverage begins. If yours is unmet, you may pay the full contracted rate until it is.

Coinsurance

A percentage of the visit rather than a flat fee, common once a deductible is met.

Paying Privately Is Welcome Too

Patients with a high unmet deductible often find self-pay works out lower than using their plan. You will know which is cheaper before you book, because we will have the numbers.

  • Self-pay first visit $300 Evaluation or medication review, new patients
  • Self-pay follow-up $175 Follow-up or medication review, current patients

If Your Plan Is Not Listed

We provide a superbill after each visit, which carries the codes your insurer needs for out-of-network reimbursement, and a Good Faith Estimate on request. Many patients claim part of a self-pay visit back this way.

Insurance Questions Patients Ask

Does Ridge Way accept my insurance?

The insurers we are in network with are listed at the top of this page, each with a page of its own.

Do you take Medicaid?

Not currently.

Will my employer see that I was here?

No. Your employer receives no clinical information about you. Some patients still prefer to pay privately so no psychiatric diagnosis enters their claims record at all, which is a reasonable thing to want.

Can I use insurance for some visits and pay privately for others?

With most commercial plans, yes. Tell us at booking which way you want a given appointment handled and we will bill it accordingly. If you have Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan, every visit is billed to your plan.

Can I use an HSA or FSA?

Yes, for copays, deductibles and self-pay visits alike. Bring the card as you would any other.
